1. Practice Nutritional Timing. A great way to drop inches from your stomach area is to control the time of day you eat carbohydrates. Think of carbs as energy foods. When you eat them at times of the day when your body needs energy they are used up completely but if you eat them at times of the day when your energy needs are low they turn into stored energy (i.e. belly fat). Simply finish eating carbs early in the day when your body needs them and limit them in the evening and you will work with your body to cut the fat.
2. Prioritize exercise. Exercises that stimulate your fat burning metabolism such as weight training or working in intervals (alternating your pace while exercising) are great ways to decrease belly fat. It can be hard to get started but the rewards are a fit and healthy body, start slow and build.
3. Cut stress. Stress causes the release of hormones in your body that encourage the storage of fat in the belly. Start today to acknowledge what areas of life create stress for you and begin to use techniques that will help you cut your stress level, walking, talking to a friend and delegating responsibilities are just a few ways of coping.
